ABOUT US

Leamington Netball Club was founded in the 1950’s under its original name of Lockheed Netball Club, and played in the Coventry Works League.

The Club has grown in strength and size and now fields a team in the West Midlands Regional League as well as five teams in the Coventry and Warwickshire League.  We are really proud of the fact that former and present players have represented us in the West Midland Regional team, and players who were selected for England, with our junior players selected in the local Wasps Hubs in the local areas.

Players and officials are encouraged to develop their skills with support coming from the Club either financially or with mentoring from other successful members.

Our junior section has grown and continued to succeed at all levels. Girls are given the opportunity to gain umpire and coach awards and to use the netball as part of their Duke of Edinburgh awards process.

Leamington gained GOLD accreditation in the recognised Clubmark scheme in the netball specific CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) and in subsequent assessment the GOLD status has been retained. Our officials (coaches, Umpires etc) are dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified. This has undoubtedly allowed us preferential treatment in grant applications.  In past years we have been awarded grants from Warwick District Council, The Heart of England Community Fund and pledges from companies towards our new application for a court side facility with changing area and toilets. Clubmark accreditation ensures that the Club is run in a safe & friendly environment which formally adheres to the policies, procedures and are constantly updated.  We have strong Club/School links and these players plus from our junior section become the future of the Club.
