Coventry & Warwickshire Junior League

Leamington Under 16 (16) v Highway U16 (34)

Illness and injury made the first choice team impossible for Leamington, although U14 player Annie Latham had an excellent game in attack. Her speed and agility enabled her to lose any defence trying to mark her.

The defensive duo of Abbie Walker & Amy Hawkins worked tirelessly to prevent the Highway shooters scoring goals, and their timely interceptions kept the scoring opportunities down.

However, the flow of play was compromised with players unsure of the positional changes, and Highway prevented Leamington getting a conciliatory point.

Player of the match Abbie Walker.
